Positive Magic Voodoo Kittys!

December 10, 2014

Very Happy and excited to announce the arrival of my Original Positive Magic Voodoo Kittys to the world wide web!

Welcome to:

http://www.VoodooKittys.com

The Original Voodoo Kitty

I carefully hand-sew each Voodoo Kitty to be unique and one-of-a-kind. This is to celebrate the diversity we see in real life and each be a piece of original collectable fine-art.

The Voodoo Kittys are constructed from various scrap or recycled fabrics as well as buttons and beads I purchased from local shops and some donated to me by local residents in San Francisco, CA. They often feature and highlight Authentic African Fabrics and beads. That way making and selling Voodoo Kitty allows me to support traditional African cultures & artisans, bridging San Francisco and African economies. In turn spreading positive vibes to all local communities around the world.

Please do enjoy your journey through our gallery of ready made Voodoo Kittys for you to choose from and if you want something extra special you can order a custom made Voodoo Kitty right from the custom order link. I will make a special Voodoo Kitty just for you.

While you are there check out all the cool accessories you can add to your custom made Kitty!

Voodoo Kittys do sometimes make an appearance at street-fairs, local art shows as well as non-profit events. Most recently did a coloring activity table and donated some Voodoo Kittys for raffle & spin the wheel prizes at Haight-Ashbury Street Fair Halloween Hootenanny 2014. The kids loved them and so did the parents. Spreading and seeing the joy is priceless.

New Paintings at Aspen Lodge and Universal Conciousness Festival

August 30, 2014

A recently completed series of my paintings are now available at Aspen Lodge Resort & Spa’s gift store in Colorado.

In September the originals will be available for sale in the silent auction at The Universal Consciousness Festival.

The series is inspired by the concept of the journey into universal consciousness: over-coming struggle, harmony, balance, wellness, growth, community, cultural diversity and nature. Integrating different symbols along with the iconic yin-yang but Americanized into Ying Yang to emphasize the mixed cultural aspect.

For more information and/or to book tickets to The Universal Consciousness Festival visit: http://universalconsciousnessfestival.org/

You can also stay updated and show support at: https://www.facebook.com/UniversalConsciousnessFestival

The Aspen Lodge is indeed a great retreat located in the beauty of an amazing natural habitat, The Rocky Mountains. They have recently renovated, reopened and rising up strong from last year’s major damage from Colorado’s massive floods. To see more information about Aspen Lodge and/or to book reservations visit:

Thank you for your interest and I hope you enjoyed my work. Cheers!

Working with San Francisco Community – Recent Endeavors

August 12, 2014

Lately and with great honor I have had wonderful opportunities as an artist and graphic designer to work with my direct community in San Francisco.

Currently and recently launched is a very crucial fundraiser to Save The African Outlet and help them establish a dynamic African Cultural Center in San Francisco. A place that is safe and accessible for all SF residents and visitors to get in touch with Native Africa, the roots of all human culture.

Working with store owners Judah Dwyer and Horgan Edet, I edited the video, constructed the graphics, advised and assisted with setting up their crowd-fundraiser campaign.

You can also see more of my work and follow their journey at www.facebook.com/SaveTheAfricanOutlet

The African Outlet is my favorite store in the whole world and even more so like a shrine. Any of your help with this cause is deeply appreciated.

Also over the last couple of months I have been working on a collaborative community painting project with Jason Wynman of 14 Black Poppies and Rebbeca Shultz for CHP Housing Project in San Francisco.

We ask people the question where do you belong? For there they constructed their own visual about the subject matter and pasted onto a large canvas which Rebbeca and I have been painting around, making it look a bit like a map or topological view of a landscape.

Very much looking forward to the next phase and very happy to be working along side so many creative constructive forces in my direct community: San Francisco, California.

African Outlet Experience at Carnival 2012 San Francisco, CA

May 29, 2012

This Year I joined African Outlet Experience at the 2012 Carnival Parade in San Francisco on May 27th. Had a wonderful time joining them by dancing as a villager girl and banging on a traditional bell called “oghene”. Taking this opportunity to share some of my experience with all these wonderful mostly new friends. What I mostly was able to capture with my little cell phone was Pre-Parade presence Starting with traditional African blessings. Managed to capture a couple of shots at the after-parade party too at their store on 524 Octavia st. (Corner of Ivy near Hayes St.) Big up to everyone on the African Outlet troupe and much thanks to all who made it out to Mission area to see the parade! Judah and Horgan of African Outlet, I can’t thank you enough for bringing Africa to us (of course getting us all involved in the positive magic you bring) and so much more color to our world.
